Harokopio University participated once again this year in the international ranking system Round University Ranking (RUR) 2025, which evaluates more than 1,200 Universities from all over the world. The goal of the RUR system is to assess the overall performance of Higher Education Institutions based on four key pillars: Teaching, Research, International Diversity, and Financial Sustainability.
The participation of Harokopio University for the second consecutive year in this specific international ranking strengthens its international presence and recognition, constituting another step towards highlighting the excellence of its academic and research work.
In the recent ranking for 2025, Harokopio University recorded excellent performances, occupying the 881st place worldwide in the overall evaluation. Particularly significant is the Institution’s advancement in individual subject areas, where at a global level it occupied:
- the 555th place in the field of Medical Sciences (up from 616th place)
- the 669th place in the field of Social Sciences (up from 684th place)
Top performances at the national level
At a national level, Harokopio University is established among the country’s top Institutions, occupying the 6th place among Greek universities overall,
- 1st place in Greece in the field of Social Sciences,
- 4th place in Greece in the field of Medical Sciences.
This distinction constitutes recognition of the Institution’s strategic commitment to excellence, research and academic quality, and its active contribution to the global scientific community.
