The Act “Quality Assurance Unit (Q.A.U.) Harokopio University of Athens” with M.I.S. Code 5093203, is part of the Operational Program “Human Resource Development, Education and Lifelong Learning 2014-2020” and the Priority Axis “Improving quality and efficiency of the educational system”.
The Act concerns the upgrading of the quality of Higher Education Institutions to be more effective and have efficient operation and the consolidation of the corresponding quality culture with the support of the Quality Assurance Units (QAUs) through the redesign and reconstruction of the internal quality assurance procedures.
Six (6) Actions will be implemented, which will include:
1. Training of Harokopio University of Athens human resource groups on quality assurance issues and its implementation methods.
2. Development and interoperability of the University’s information systems and their interconnection with the National Information System for Quality Assurance in Higher Education
3. Creation of new internal institutions, procedures and work flow in the context of quality management (standard operating quality prosecdures),
4. Staffing of the Q.A.U. for administrative, managerial and technical support
5. Planning, monitoring, evaluation of the project.
6. Automated collection of the University’s quality data.
Individual objectives/expected results include:
- Training, knowledge acquisition and skills of the University’s human resources groups in quality assurance and its implementation methods, in order to apply modern quality management with appropriate decision-making based on the data and in order to achieve the strategic goals.
- Development and interoperability of the University’s information systems and their interconnection with the National Information System for Quality Assurance in Higher Education of the HAHE (Hellenic Authority for Higher Education), for the extraction of evaluation data. The ultimate goal is to support the internal operation of the University by properly interconnecting information systems, so that it is possible to capture a comprehensive and analytical picture of its activities as well as the use of data in decision-making, thus ensuring the upgrading of quality and the improvement of its international image.
- Transformation of internal operations, by removing inefficient processes and establishing new ones compatible with quality management. The written standardization of operating procedures, will help employees perform their tasks with efficiency and uniformity in performance, ensuring the quality of services provided and compliance with the strategic goals of the University.
- Staffing of the Q.A.U. with external partners with scientific and professional qualifications who will offer know-how transfer services from the labor market, in order to support the project administratively, managerially and technically.
- Ensuring effective project implementation.
Ensuring submission to the HAHE of valid, correct and up-to-date quality data.
