Harokopio University was included this year in the international ranking of the Center for World University Rankings (CWUR). According to the results, out of a total of 21,462 institutions evaluated, only 2,000 made it to the CWUR “Global 2000” list. Harokopio University ranked 1,918th globally, placing it within the top 9% of universities worldwide for the year 2025.
The objective of the CWUR international ranking is to evaluate and classify universities worldwide based on a series of parameters that assess the quality of education, the distinction of academic staff, and the quality of research.
CWUR uses seven indicators, grouped into four key areas, to determine the global ranking of universities:
- Education (25%): Based on the academic success of a university’s alumni, adjusted for the institution’s size.
- Employability (25%): Based on the professional success of alumni, also adjusted for institution size.
- Faculty (10%): Measured by the number of faculty members who have received top academic distinctions.
- Research (40% total):
- Research Output (10%): Total number of research articles.
- High-Quality Publications (10%): Number of articles published in top-tier journals.
- Influence (10%): Articles published in highly influential journals.
- Citations (10%): Number of highly cited research papers.
